First Day of Nursery!!!

Well, considering he's about to be 20 months old, this is a little late! Oh well. He was a cutey that day! It's great to have him in nursery now. But I can't believe he is so old. He does great just like I knew he would. One of his teacher's is named Annie, so before Sacrament is over he is yelling for "ANNIE!", "ANNIE!". He runs in and never looks back. And he would rather we leave him in there and not pick him up afterward, especially if the bubble machine is going! I love the teachers. It's such a great experience.

Best diapers of ALL TIME!

So this is gross...I know. But Josh drinks a TON of water so now that he's sleeping all night, his diapers just don't have the capacity to last those 9-11 hours. So every morning I would have a wet baby and wet sheets because there was just no absorbency left in the diaper and it all escaped to his clothes and beyond. GROSS!!!! So last week when I was buying regular diapers I noticed Huggies has this line of Overnite diapers. They are expensive compared to our Luvs, but I was willing to try it to save my lazy self the need to wash sheets EVERYDAY!!! So I did, and let me tell you, I haven't been this excited about something since Breaking Dawn hit the shelves!!!!!!!!! They are AWESOME!!!! No, and I mean NO, leaks!!! I have had a dry baby all week long. The cost isn't that much since I only use one per day so it is so worth it. I will be buying these from now on and reccommend that if your baby leaks out of his/her diaper, get these! (I mean really, the things we go through being a mom. I'm excited about a diaper of all things...ha!)

Left wanting...a better ending...

Well, I was so excited about this book. It is the last in The Mortal Instruments series. I would still recommend that everyone who likes teen fantasies read them. She is a really good author. Her writing is very vivid and you can really "see" everything that is going on. Plus it's very original and exciting. At the end, of course, everyone who you want to end up together does, but it's anti-climatic. Plus she throws in something at the end that would only be fitting if there was another book coming in the series, but there isn't one. This is supposed to be the last one. So it just left me wanting a better ending. More closure I suppose you could say. But oh well...

Brief synopsis: It's a world where ALL the mythical creatures exist: Vampires, werewolves, fairies, warlocks and demons of all sorts. The first four are referred to as Downworlders and the others are just called plain old demons. There is a race of people called Nephilim or Shadowhunters. They have angel blood in them and they are there to protect humans by fighting all the demons. They have special magical weapons and use "runes-marks they draw on themselves with a special instrument" to help them with fighting, protecting and healing. Of course there is a teen love story/triangle b/w Clary (a mundane/human that doesn't know she really is a Shadowhunter) and Jace (a Shadowhunter rebel) and Clary's best friend Simon (who has interesting twists of his own in the second and thrid books). Plus a few other love stories/triangles thrown in there for fun. All up against one big creepy bad guy named Valentine who is also a Shadowhunter but wants to kill on the Downworlders and even resorts to using demons to do so.

What is Easter all about?

If Josh could understand this question, his only answer would be EGGS!!!! Eggs, eggs, eggs, and more eggs. I mean really, what did we do ALL Easter weekend???

We started out by decorating eggs. (We took the non-mess stickers on plastic eggs route!)

Then we had our very first Easter egg hunt at church! He grasped the concept right away, find eggs, put eggs in basket, eat all the candy out of the eggs that I can fit in my mouth at once.

Then we had the next one at Greg's grandmother's after church. More eggs, more candy.

And last on the list of egg hunts was at my dad's house. Again, more eggs, more candy, more of the "true" meaning of Easter.

Oh wait, not ALL eggs...throw in some Elmo too! We can't forget about the Easter basket of goodies (at least no candy there!)

So where does this leave my poor son, What is Easter all about???? "EGGS!!!"

It's sad but true that such a trivial concept of such an important holiday would be so easy for a little kid to grasp. "I find eggs, put them in my basket, then eat the candy! What a great holiday!"

Of course it's just too much to ask of a 19-month-old brain to grasp the REAL meaning of the holiday...the Atonement! What a great responsibility I have to make sure that he will learn the true meaning. That our Savior died for us and was gloriously resurrected so that we might be too!

I wish he could right now, but I guess we will have to settle with EGGS!!!

Oh, and I LOVED his church Easter clothes. He was so cute. Of course the pics don't do it justice, and of course I forgot to get a good "portrait" so this is the cutest one I could find...even though his shirt tails are hanging out :)

Birmingham Zoo

We had a great time at the Zoo. It was packed, but still fun. I mean really, what was I thinking, half price day during Spring Break! Ha.
Anyway, most of our pics look like this... Josh in his stroller looking at whatever animal. His favorites we the sea lions but I forgot to get a pic. Probably because I had let him out of his stroller and that is really dangerous! :)

This is on the train ride. MY favorite.
