Beach Trip!

So Greg had an audit in Sarasota, Fl this summer so we got a free hotel for a week!

This place definitely isn't a tourist town, but it was fun!

This was one of those dolphin cruises. It was a sunset one (which was the shortest at only 1 hr long) so we only so one dolphin jump a few times, but Josh got a kick out of the "big fish." Even only being an hour, it was too long. He wanted to run around, etc. So they had Doritos and that helped for like 5 min. Funny pics of him covered in cheese, but can't put ALL the pics on here :)

Since Greg was working he never really got to go to the beach with us so we just went at night after dinner and got to walk for a while in the shallow waves. It was so great. I wish we could do that every night. I would love to live at the beach! (Even though I'm too chicken to actually swim in the ocean!)

So the best pics I have of course are on the beach b/c we don't have a water proof camera. But he liked walking in the shallow part and sitting in the sand where the waves came up to you. But mostly he loved playing with a bucket of water in the sand. Ha. Funny fella! Every time we left the water, he said "bye pool." To no avail could I get him to say "ocean." He just called it "water" or "big pool." Oh well. At least he got the general idea.

The last day on the way out we took a tour of a fruit farm. He got to ride the "choo choo" (meaning anything with more than one 'car' connected and moving like the little tour tram with two cars) and got to see the fruit "twees."

Then this guy giving the tour has an animal rescue reserve on the farm so we got to see the animals he has rescued. Some of them get released back into the wild, but not the gators. Since they get used to people they consider them "sources" of food. Yes, to give you food or to eat you! But this was cool. Josh and I got to touch the baby one. The big one was scary and hissed a lot. Josh loved it. It was so funny b/c we were well protected from it, but some of the adults kept jumping back scared. Josh just laughed.

Josh made a new "friend." He got to ride a turtle. He loved this thing. I'm just glad he didn't try to touch its head and get his fingers in the way of the lettuce! There were two, but get this, the other one was going through a "fake pregnancy." How weird is that for a turtle?

How do you make an 11 hour drive bearable for a 21-month-old? Elmo!!!! He watched a ton of dvds! It worked wonders.

Keith Urban Concert!

Keith and Deirks together singing an Eagles cover.

Awesome special effects.

Yes, that's Keith moving the security guard out of the way and
letting all the screaming chicks up to the stage.

There was confetti. Nothing more need be said!

So Dierks opened for Keith, but I had to give him his dues separately.
Here are some pics from Keith's portion of the concert. It was great!

Dierks Bentley in Concert!

I got to meet Dierks this time and get his autograph. Greg didn't want his backstage pass so he gave it to a girl behind us in line. She was so excited. I'm glad to have a father-in-law with the insider goodies!

And I had a video but for some reason it just won't upload....
