Finally!
I gave Josh his first hair cut. It went really badly. Lot's of crying (from him and me) and it looked horrible. From then on, I took him other places. We found a lady at Sweet 'n Sassy (Yes, I know it's a chick place, but they have stuff for boys too!) that did a good job, but then she left. Josh didn't like the next lady we tried so it went badly. Then a friend of mine started cutting it. I watched her a few times to check out her skills. After a while we just didn't have time to get together to play, let alone have her give him a hair cut.
So then I tried again. I let him have a "lollipop" while cutting it to appease him. I've done it a few times now, but it never has looked very good. Last night Greg and I perfected our routine. We let him have a "lollipop," put his movie of the week (Scooby-Doo) in his little dvd player and got to work. I buzzed the back and sides and took my time. Greg held the dvd player and moved it around according to where I needed Josh's head to go. I used only scissors on the top. I've used the buzzer before and it thins it out too much. The key to it all was that I was able to take my time while Greg kept Josh occupied. It looks great!!!! Practice makes perfect. Even if he has to look a little rough in the process.

My New Favorite Store: Kohl's
Well, they may be my new favorite store, but I'm sure I'm the last customer they want to see coming.
I'll just give a rundown of my major accomplishment that ended today.
I have purchased the following items from Kohl's over the last week or two:
For Josh:
-Church shoes
-2 Toy Story t-shirts
-2 Toy Story pajama sets
-1 pair of khaki shorts
-1 pair of flip flops for myself
-5 baby girl outfits (I hope no one reads this that is getting those gifts! ha!!!)
(I think this just about covers it. I might have to add more to the list.)
If I would have paid the original price, plus tax it would have come to about $300.
If I would have paid the sales and clearance prices they rang up at, plus tax, I would have paid about $93.
BUT with the many coupons they have handed out lately, I paid about $18 for ALL of those items!!!!
Seriously, I'm having a good day!
(But I'm not so horrible that I didn't buy Josh the so-soft Pooh Bear he was coveting at the front of the store. That was an additional $5, all for charity. No coupons used! Yay for my contribution!)
Like they say, I expected great things, but not this great! I can't wait to do it again!!!
**Now if I could only get $300 worth of groceries every month for only $20...I would be a super hero!!!

Rude People
I'm so tired of rude people. I have reached my limit and am starting to become one of them, which makes me sad.
A few weeks ago at the library, usually a very friendly place, I couldn't get the lady at the children's counter to help me at all. I was trying desperately to find a book and video to help Josh potty train. But no help was offered and she was rude every time I asked a question.
Then a few days later we went to the post office to mail a package. I love using the self-service kiosk. It's so wonderful. Mainly because you don't have to wait in a long line only to receive rude service. Well I was having to drag Josh away from another kid he decided was going to be his new friend and finally got my package down on the machine. I turned around to start inputting my info and this lady came up around me and started typing in what she wanted....What the ******* ????? I was rude to her, and for that I am sorry. I'm not usually the type to be rude back, so this makes me upset with myself which makes me even more angry at the rude person.
Today, I have taken most of my frustration out on Josh. Which is the worst thing I could do. Again, we were at the post office and a lady cut in front of us, then the woman at the counter was even more rude (and just for that I will point out that she was covered in facial hair)...see what I mean, I'm becoming so MEAN!!!! So everything Josh did that was slightly annoying today, I have gotten onto him about. :......(
These are only a few recent incidents. This summer has been jammed packed with rude people. The sad part is, I don't think any of those times occurred while we were in New York. Go figure....so much for Southern Hospitality.
