Christmas Events: My FAVORITE Memory

Greg's grandmother uses a cane to walk. Josh loves to play with it.
When Charmaine gave him a "cane" full of candy, he immediately started using it to walk. I was laughing so much I can't believe I got a good picture of it! Yay!

Christmas Events: Christmas Day

Stockings first!

Look what Santa brought...

A friend of mine found this website from a woman who made an awesome fort that covers your kitchen table. I didn't take pictures of all the sides :( This side is the football side (not yet complete with "Big Al" written on his t-shirt). The front has a window, flower box, door, and mailbox (the first picture shows some of it). The other side has a dog house with a doggy door entrance. The back is a garden with pockets for vegetables. It's great for when it's too cold outside to play!

Grandpa "Santa" brought him a great airplane and interactive airport.

Grandpa with Elmo!

Helping Dada open presents.

Now he has a laptop like Dada's.

Josh was a little helper elf delivering presents at the in-laws.

Obviously Josh's favorite present!!! Thanks Nonna, Papa, MomMom and PopPop!

Christmas night with Grandpa, Nanny and all her family.
His second favorite present, a new tractor with a trailer!!!

Seriously, there were about 11 adults and 9 kids packed into the living room
opening presents all at once! Fun stuff!

Christmas Events: Christmas Lights Outing

One of my favorite memories from my childhood Christmases is our drives around town looking at Christmas lights. It was our own special tradition. I was so excited to take Josh this year since he's old enough to appreciate them himself. He absolutely loved all the big cheesy blow up characters. And of course, all the candy canes. We found a few really good neighborhoods and enjoyed our family time together. We were crazy busy this year and made a goal not to let that happen again next year, but I am glad that we were able to take one night off and spend time just driving around together.

Christmas Events: Making Cookies with Nonna

Josh LOVES making cookies. I didn't get any pics of us making the dough, but it's hard to say which is his favorite part. He loves to pour everything in the bowl and "stir" it up! He's not too big on eating them, he prefers to eat chocolate chip cookies, but they aren't as much fun to make! Charmaine loves making sugar cookies at Christmas and this year Josh got to help.

He had his own little roller.

And she happened to have a train cookie cutter so there were about 90% train cookies and 10% other shapes.

He loves the flipper. He's so coordinated at it too.

His sprinkling skills need a little work, but this was pretty funny. He definitely made the train all blue. Yay for THOMAS!

This was the best part. He really doesn't like his hands to be dirty! He can make a mess with the best of them, but then he needs a "WIPE!" His little face is so expressive!

Christmas Events: Santa

So this year he began to grasp "Santa." He knows that Santa brings him gifts and comes when he's asleep. That's about it.

The best word to describe his Santa picture this is LAME!!! It was at our church Christmas party and there were so many kids and it was so rushed that I didn't have time to take very many.

I didn't focus too much on it and by the time I thought about it, Christmas was over! Oh well.

Christmas Events: The Tree

I know it's almost the middle of January and I still haven't put any Christmas stuff up. So I'm going to try and get it all done so I can print my blog for the year!

This was Josh's third Christmas, but it was the best yet. He's old enough now to really know what's going on!

This year Josh was actually awake and aware of what we were doing. It was so much fun to pick out a tree with him.

When Greg was putting the tree on the car, Josh decided to "clean up" the lot and move all the stray branches into one pile. Then he was really confused why there was a tree on momma's car!!!????!!!!

Then, he even helped with the lights...

and putting the ornaments on!

He LOVED the tree. He did so well this year at not touching it. He would walk up to it and tell me, "Don't touch, just look!" He called it "My tree" and frequently declared his love for it!

Shape of the day: Triangle

So the shapes continue today.

He keeps making triangles with everything.

He put his fingers together and yelled "triangle momma, my fingers made triangle!"

And he has been playing with nerf darts. Besides trying to eat them and calling them Cheetos, he keeps bending them into "triangles!!!"

Shape of the day: Candy Cane

So Josh loves his colors. For a long time now he describes things by their color, etc. He just loves to talk about colors.

Now, he's all about shapes.

The other day, he picked up a french fry and it was shaped like a candy cane. He was so excited. "Candy Cane!!!"

Then today, he saw "candy canes" everywhere. Their is construction all around where we live, so all of the orange and white striped construction signs were "candy canes", etc. He just kept "finding" them everywhere!
